Frank Stella and the Synagogues of Historic Poland at POLIN Museum

World-Class Temporary Exhibition – Frank Stella and the Synagogues of Historic Poland at POLIN Museum

Frank Stella and the Synagogues of Historic Poland, a world-class exhibition, features the work of one of the greatest abstract artists of the twentieth century. Stella was inspired by Polish wooden synagogues to create a unique series of works. For the first time, Stella’s large reliefs from his Polish Village series have been set side by side with the prewar photographs and measured drawings of wooden synagogues that inspired them, a fascinating interplay of two seemingly distant worlds, that of the Polish wooden synagogue and modern American art.

Almost 1,000 people attended the opening of this highly anticipated exhibition. Frank Stella and the Synagogues of Historic Poland will run until June 20, 2016.
