Global Education Outreach Program

GEOP – POLIN Museum partners with universities and research institutions worldwide

The Global Education Outreach Program (GEOP), supported by the William K. Bowes, Jr. Foundation and the Taube Foundation for Jewish Life & Culture, is intended to strengthen POLIN Museum as an international center for intellectual exchange and partnerships in the fields of Polish-Jewish studies and Jewish museum studies. GEOP supports research fellowships, scholars-in-residence, post-doctoral seminars, distinguished lectures, conferences, publications, and the development of digital resources.

Seven POLIN research fellowships for 2016/2017 have been awarded to outstanding scholars whose research projects deal with the history and culture of Polish Jews in the historic territory of Poland. Fellows will present their work-in-progress and receive feedback from their colleagues in a monthly seminar. They will also be encouraged to participate in the full program of lectures, workshops, and conferences at POLIN Museum and at the Jewish Historical Institute.

A unique opportunity to name a fellowship or internship

The Greenberg Family International Internships, the first named gift within GEOP, will support ten international internships over a five-year period. During the eight-week summer internships in POLIN Museum’s Education, Research, Publication, and Exhibition departments will offer undergraduate and graduate students, from universities outside Poland, a unique experience. They will deepen their knowledge of the history of Polish Jews, develop professional skills in a world-class museum, and explore today’s Poland. Recruitment for summer 2017 interns will begin in September 2016.

GEOP provides you a unique opportunity to become a partner in this worthy endeavor! Naming opportunities for international fellowships or internships start from 30,000 USD. Help us to create a new generation of scholars and museum professionals dedicated to the history of Polish Jews and their enduring legacy.

International recognition

It is my great pleasure, as POLIN attracts attention everywhere I go. Rooms are full and almost always someone who has seen the museum stands up to praise it. I wish I could accept all the invitations I get, but I get them every month…
